After playing the federal budget game on the website above, please post your thoughts about how government money is allocated. Comment on one peer's posting.
Playing the federal budget game made me realize a couple things. One, the government only wants money they don't want to help anybody. For example, when I tried to spend money to educate disabled children you would think my debt would go down because the government should support that idea. But every time I tried to HELP someone, my debt kept increasing. So I tried to play the game in the governments angle. I cut funds, and suddenly my debt decreased. Maybe I just have no idea how to play this game but I just thought that was unfair.
I found this game difficult because it's allmost impossible to balance all the tasks you've taken on, and I agree with Amanda when she said that when you do try to help someone you end up deeper in debt.
I think that the game in general is really hard to play. but however it did make me realize that you cant make everyone in the world happy and that someones always going to suffer no matter what. and i also agree with amanda davis about how the debt kept increasing.
This game was wicked hard because there's almost never enough money to do everything you want to do and still have some. I agree with Jimmy that it is stressful.
When I was playing the game I also thought it was hard. I also agree with amanda about how no matter what not everyone is going to be happy with the decisions that are made.
At first it took me awhile to figure out this game, but once I understood what to do, I realized how stressful it would be to have to deal with this in real life. I agree wth Keni's comment.
this game was really hard, the more you tried to help others, the more in debt you get. not to mention the tasks that you take on are hard to balance with eachother. I agree with danielle, this game was really hard because you wanna be a good person and help others, but then that will dig you deeper into the ground.
this game was very difficult because everything is so expensive and the government doesnt care for people who have low wages. if you were to try and help others you would just find yourself in worse depth. it seemed there was no way around the game everything you did put you in depth. i agree with lauren that the government can be very greedy! -courtney terio!!
This game is very addictive and shows the trouble budgeting the nations debt while trying to please everyone is extremly difficult. i stuck to energy resources, science and well-being i was able to decrease the nations debt by taxing the rich and riding of welfare but with that angry the clases mostly effect. But the nation comes before certain citizens. I agree with Kendle actions that you do cause the naiton to go into greater debt and causes new problems, finding a medium is hard
I think this game is easy. The only way to stop the debt is decrease spending. So you can't afford to help everybody. Not everything has to be government funded, there are still schools out the for special needs children but like all things, it costs money. The government should'nt waste their time on 5% of the population's interests but instead help drecrease the debt so that we end up paying less money on taxes in the long run. That being said, I think jimmer's post is right, it is pretty stressful.
This game was personally very tough to play. It was easy to see how the government is very controlling and you really can suffer if you are not wealthy. When you tried to help others you also hurt some in the process. I really liked Amanda Davis's outlook on this game!
The money allocated in the federal government is so crazy and confusing and difficult. I would never want to have that job and it is sad that money runs us that way. It is like if it is not budgeted correctly our country can fail and fall. Amanda's outlook was very smart and intelligent!
I agree with Amanda I think that th way they think is unfair
playing this game made me see that the government only cares about getting money and will only improve life for citizens if it will provide them with more cash. They arent focused on what will be better in the long run for everyone
the game should me how hard it is to decide what to invest money in. you need to invest in whatthe goverment wants in order to lower the interest you have. i agree courtney, they only care about themselves and not whats best in the future to come.
This game showed me how difficult it is to keep everything balanced and keep everyone happy. To get the debt to fall while keeping the citizens happy seems like an impossible task.
I agree with courtney saying their not helping us in teh long run.

PLaying this game was very difficult because the government doesnt want to help anybody ; they just want the money .I think its very unfair .I also agree wid Amanda & shelby :that no matter what; not everyone is going to be happy with the decisions that are made.
Playing this game made me see that the government only cares about getting money and will only improve life for citizens if it will provide them with more cash. They arent focused on what will be better in the long run for everyone.
Andddddd I agree with Amanda I think that th way they think is unfair
I played this game and i realized the same things as Amanda Davis, she said that countries should be helping people but they dont do anything and they just hurt people, it makes no sense
This game was just confusing to me, with the different years you could play in. To decrease the debt, the only cards I played were the ones that would decrease spending. However, I agree with Amanda that it doesn't seem fair that when we spend money on the groups that need it, our debt increases.
This game shows how stressful it is for the goverment to control spending and where the money goes. I agree with leanne it is hard to keep everyone happy.
This game was confusing, but not really that hard once you get used to it. It's hard keeping everyone happy while allocating money, and even harder to control the debt. - I disagree with Anthony, the game isn't addictive at all
The federal budjet game showed me how hard it is to deliberate where and how money should be spent. It is difficult to keep everyone happy and stay out of debt
i learned that the government is very greedy. and i learned that its hard to figure out where the money should go and how it should be spent... i also found it very confusing
this game is kind of easy, you just cant spend money or your debt will increase. Its just hard keeping everyone happy i feel like i wasnt really sure where the money should go and what was the best thing to spend it on, i agree with kassandra.
I played this game and i realized the same things as Amanda Davis, she said that countries should be helping people but they dont do anything and they just hurt people, it makes no sense
not enough money is alocated to schools and houseing people who need it most arent getting it because houseing is letting people who dont need it in and money is being put twards building rather than the educational aspect
In playing this game it is obvious that the government has no intention in helping or caring but only recieving money. Agreeing with Kendle when you try to help out someone you are only hurting yourself, because you'll need that money for youself when the government tries to pull some law or tax raise realing in more money from the citizens. Its hard to manage your money in helping directly yourself as well as your community around you in which your taxes pay for, like schooling , town events, etc..
I think the game generally was hard but it made me realize that can not please everybody and someone is going to end up suffering. i agree with amanda about the debt increasing.
aggh this bugdet game was so frustrating..thers things that u need bt at the same time you cant spend your money because your debt will increase so your kinda stuck..tashana
it is clear that the government only wants money for themselves. That is why they raise taxes and decease budgets so people are limited. Its hard to help someone else out because if you help them you are just in more debt, and then you cannot afford to pay for your necesities and taxes that you must pay for. It's hard to decide where your money should go, but in the end you always need to make the best, narrowed down choices
Playing this game i realized it is very hard to keep everyone happy. When going to help someone, for example funding a school, your debt increases ALOT. So pretty much its saying that you should spend your money on "wiser" things, but dont you think school is something we should def spend our money on? Overall this game was pretty challenging and stressful.
this game was confusing but from what i played of it i found out that the budget is not enough to give to everyone like schools, government and the green fund. you dont have enough money to give to everyone so certain things suffer.
It is clear to me like many others that the government wants to take as much money from themselves as possible. No matter how plausible a financial decision, the government wants money back, or takes money, or doesn't provide enough. I'm interested in knowing where this extra money goes. I agreeed with sahh's posting, and i luff her.
While this game was difficult because it was hard to please everything and balance all the different aspects, the people who are doing this in real life are trained and educated to handle these situations, it's there job, so they should be able to do it.

ReplyDeleteKeeping everything balanced is a hard task, it's difficult to make everyone happy. Also the game is pretty hard to play anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think that the game in general is really hard to play. but however it did make me realize that you cant make everyone in the world happy and that someones always going to suffer no matter what. and i also agree with amanda davis about how the debt kept increasing.

ReplyDeleteThis game is really difficult, because you can never equalize all of the towers. when you try to help someone, you lose money in another area.
ReplyDeleteThe money allocated in the federal government is so crazy and confusing and difficult. I would never want to have that job and it is sad that money runs us that way. It is like if it is not budgeted correctly our country can fail and fall. Amanda's outlook was very smart and intelligent!

This game was difficult. It is hard to spread government funds; anytime you try and help someone it only creates more debt.
ReplyDeleteI agree with kendle, helping others is always good but not when it creates problems for yourself.
ReplyDeleteI played this game and i realized the same things as Amanda Davis, she said that countries should be helping people but they dont do anything and they just hurt people, it makes no sense
